Osowa Shopping Centre with the Breem In-Use certificate
Breem assessment system has been working in Great Britain for more than 20 years. Certificates of sustainable building are the mark of global changes and modern policy of global development, aimed at limiting energy consumption and reduction of greenhouse gases. This policy has been developing for years in the countries of European Union. At present the idea of sustainable development enters Poland as well. The Breem In-Use certificate is awarded to existing facilities which meet restrictive requirements in environmental and social terms. The assessment consists of several factors, including: energy efficiency of the building, the way of waste management, restricting emission of pollutants, accessibility in terms of transport or facilities for guests and employees. Osowa has been granted the Breem In-Use certificate at the “Excellent” level.
Municipal apiary in Osowa Shopping Center
The apiary has been operating in Osowa Shopping Center since 2017. It was the first shopping center in the Tri-City to take such an initiative to protect bees and which from the beginning of its operation cares for the natural environment, which was confirmed by obtaining the BREEAM-In-Use ecological certificate. CH Osowa has opened an apiary in cooperation with Agnieszka Skórska-Baj Beekeeping. On the hill near the forest behind the side parking lot of the gallery, there are already 5 hives, located at a safe distance, fenced off and marked with special plates. The municipal apiary at CH Osowa is not only an opportunity to protect bees by giving them a new home and restore biodiversity, but also a chance for customers of CH Osowa to try delicious and healthy honey distributed in competitions and actions organized by the gallery.
